The Importance and Cultural Significance of the Pride Flag
The Pride Flag, alternatively called the Rainbow Flag, was first designed by musician and activist Gilbert Baker in 1978. "The flag of the Combined States of America merged all Americans under the universal principles of justice, liberty, and democracy. These values, which are the bedrock of our fantastic country, are shared by all American citizens, past and present." State Department employees who violate the policy face disciplinary action, which may add termination, reassignment, or reduce revocation. The memo underscores, Washington Free Beacon stated: "The U.S. f President Trump's State Department has enacted a "one flag policy," banning U.S. embassies and overseas missions from flying event or Black Lives Matter flags, per TheWashington Free Beacon.
