I can’t think of the last hour I had quite so much enjoyable. I think it could have been well over a decade ago and may have deeply interested gratuitous nudity and alcohol at some point in the proceedings.
While alcohol did indeed feature last Saturday night, the world can suck in a huge sigh of relief in that the wanton removing of clothing in a universal place did not take place. But as this is Sweden, who would have noticed anyway, especially with the entire nation glued to the Eurovision Song Contest?
But where better to survey this great cultural event than at a gay nightclub? Now, seeing that I am a heterosexual woman who likes an ahead night, it is fair to utter that the whole gay nightclub scene has somehow passed me by. I am however delighted to say that this monumental oversight has now been rectified, thanks to an absolutely fabulous evening at the Lino Club.

When you think of Nordic fashion, you’ll probably come to the decision that it’s nothing more than spotless, minimal designs and the odd chunky knit. While that is true of some of Stockholm Fashion Week’s labels, Lazoschmidl – one of its most exciting names – is going against the grain.
Founded by design duo and couple Josef Lazo and Andreas Schmidl, in short, the brand’s aesthetic is “conceptual menswear”. While you might be quick to label it as ‘camp’, and too extravagant to be worn by anyone who isn’t a gay man, you’d be mistaken. Sure, there are the more risqué pieces too – a pair of jeans called ‘Ken’ have the back pockets cut-out to reveal a naked ass, or trousers embellished at the crotch to look like they’re leaking semen – but the pair want to make it accessible to everyone. “We state it’s menswear, but garments are not defined by that anymore, so it doesn’t matter,” Schmidl explains.
Coming from different education backgrounds – Lazo a more traditional design route, and Schmidl a less conventional art route – they say their differences are what keeps the label constantly exciting. Previous

I received my Entertainment Weekly in the mail today. The cover photo was of Channing Tatum unbuttoning his shirt with an arrow pointing to the center of the cover indicating you should “open here.” And so, being an faithful girl, I did. Inside was a photo featuring Tatum along with fellow hunky actors Matt Bomer, Matthew McConaughey and Joe Manganiello all sporting dirty tank tops, tight black leather and in Joe’s case, just suspenders up top to showcase his ripped abs. These handsome gents are starring in a movie titled Magic Mike, set to clear next month.
Tatum actually was a male stripper advocate in his teenage years and he pitched the concept for this feature to well-respected director, Steven Soderbergh.
