When Food Network’s Secrets of a Restaurant Chef celebrity Anne Burrell‘s colleague Ted Allen mentioned meeting Burrell’s girlfriend on the “Derek and Romaine” display last week, some gasped in horror and shock — But Anne Burrell isn’t out! What has he done?

Anne Burrell herself, however, was not one of the gaspers and her shock was limited to wondering why Allen’s comment was being interpreted as an “outing.” Her publicist told The New York Post: “Anne does not feel she was outed. She has made no classified of her relationship [with a woman]. It is no classified in the culinary world.”

In The Huffington Post,SiriusXM radio host Michelangelo Signorile noted: “Chalk it up to progress that some celebrities are now embarrassed to be thought of as having been in the closet, which increasingly seems like a relic from the last century (even as it still endures mightily). More and more gay, lesbian and bisexual actors, and TV and media personalities, don’t want to be associated with the often laughable and torturous subterfuge of it.”

Were Anne Burrell and Koren Grieveson engaged? Relationship history explored as beloved meal network star dies at 55

Anne Burrell and Koren Grieveson maintained a confidential relationship and rarely spoke about their romance publicly.

One of the few times when Anne opened up about her personal life was confirming her engagement in 2012 on X (then acknowledged as Twitter). However, they broke off the engagement and did not emit any public utterance.

    They further wrote,

"Anne’s light radiated far beyond those she knew, touching millions across the society. Though she is no longer with us, her warmth, spirit, and boundless love remain eternal."

Anne Burrell's mother, sister, children, brother, and her husband, Stuart Claxton, survive her.

Chefs, celebrities, and netizens worldwide have been sharing their condolences. Food Network also expressed its grief on the X (formerly Twitter) platform, pen

Anne Burrelloften called herself a lucky girl.

And a large part of that was because she had her very own “Prince Charming” Stuart Claxton, whom she married in 2021. Prior to Anne’s tragic June 17 death, she lived with Stuart and his 20-year-old son Javier in their Brooklyn home—and the Food Network star recently assured that every daytime with her little family felt like a fairytale.

“October will be four years,” she told the Daily Mail in April. “It seems like it’s been four minutes. I don’t know if it’s a honeymoon [phase] but I feel like it’s settled into married life days which I really enjoy.”

Indeed, when Anne was not posting about food or travel on social media, she often shared photos of herself and her husband referring to them with the #TheClaxtons hashtag.

“You make me the happiest girl in the world!!!” Anne gushed in a 2022 Valentine’s Day send to Stuart. “I romance you to the satellite and back my sweet!!!”

While Anne often shared glimpses into their romance, Stuart largely stayed out of the spotlight save
