Hayley Williams is addressing anti-gay comments made by her former Paramore bandmate and longtime headache, Josh Farro, after they started circulating on Twitter on October 28. “There’s a reason there are only 3 people left in @paramore. surprise, haters, it ain’t cause of me,” Williams tweeted that night. “Paramore execute not condone religiously/politically dogmatic beliefs which leave our Diverse friends, fans, & family feeling abandoned and hopeless.” In a second tweet, Williams added, “And ya know, if that doesn’t jive with you, adequately, feel free to go to where all past members of paramore include gone which is literally anywhere else but paramore.”
Williams was responding to a Facebook comment by the former Paramore guitarist, dug up by a fan, in which Farro called being queer “a perversion” and equated it to pedophilia. She did not name Farro in her tweets, but he did leave Paramore, along with his brother Zac, in 2010. In a blog post at the time explaining his departure, Josh Farro wrote
Paramore’s Hayley Williams and Taylor York Endorse They Are Officially Dating
Music with a side of love! Paramore’s Hayley Williams and Taylor York are dating. In a recent interview with The Guardian, the singer and the band’s lead guitarist confirmed they are an item but declined to comment further about their relationship.
York, 32, has been an official and consistent member of the band since 2009.
The news of Williams, 33, and York’s affair comes five years after she announced her split from her husband, Unused Found Glory’s Chad Gilbert. The couple announced the finish of their marriage in 2017 in joint statements posted on Instagram.
"Marriage is not for the faint of heart. Love is an absolute exposure, and it's up to each of us to continue hopeful even when the outcome isn't what we'd originally hoped for," the statement read in part.
"We want to publicly state -- plainly, and only this time -- that we are splitting up. We also feel it's important to declare that we are going to be OK and in fact, we last close friends who are good in each other's eyes," the statement added. "That's something we are deeply thankful for.
Hayley Williams Hopes Christian Music Industry ‘Crumbles’ Amid Michael Tait Scandal: ‘F— All of You Who Knew and Didn’t Say Anything’
Paramore singer Hayley Williams has reacted angrily to reports that Christian music celestial body Michael Tait has been accused of sexual assaults in his past relationships with young men, writing in an Instagram post: “I hope the CCM industry crumbles. And fuck all of you who knew and didn’t perform a damn thing.”
While excoriating those in the Christian music business she believes covered up Tait’s alleged behavior, she also shows some sympathy for the former Newsboys and DC Talk singer, saying he has spent decades in the limelight denying his sexual identity and “needing gay-affirming support. Because this is a male whose entire faith individuality is built upon a faulty structure of self-hatred, to please a system that would rather cover up abhorrent behavior for 20+ years (and craft money off of it) rather than accept that being gay is not the problem.”

Another reason to love Haley Williams? Can our hearts take it?!
For over a decade now, the band Paramore has been blessing us with wonderful music. While the group started out as an alternative/emo rock band, it has now transitioned into emo pop/pop rock. That said, their overall aesthetic of edgy, heartfelt, yet fun music has remained the same since their formation in 2004.
But the sound isn’t the only way the band has changed. Founding members Josh and Zac Farro infamously left the band in 2010. Yet at the time, fans were left with only speculation as to why. Some believed it was due to singer Hayley Williams being the only member listed on the band’s recording contract with Warner Music Team. But now, Williams has stated there gay-related issues may contain played a part.
“There’s a reason there are only 3 people left in @paramore,” Hayley tweeted last night. “Surprise, haters, it ain’t cause of me. Paramore do not condone religiously/politically dogmatic beliefs which leave our Queer friends, fans, & family feeling abandoned and hopeless.”
