Inspired by a thread in GD, I wanted to request this. In communal showers/locker rooms does the idea of gay men organism in there and seeing you naked bother you at all? If so how much on a scale of 1 to 10? Bear in intellect that if you’re in a locker room with 15 other guys then statistically one of them is gay.

Nope, not at all. I can’t declare I haven’t ever thought about it, but nope.

I don’t find communal showers a very arousing place most of the time.

I don’t communal showers, but when I’m in one, I’m assuming everyone is doing what I’m doing - cleaning up and getting the hell out. I don’t spend a lot of day looking around at other dudes, so unless someone is boring a hole through my genitalia with their eyes, I wouldn’t even notice someone looking in my direction.

One thing that bothers me about linear homophobic people is the assumption that gay people discover them attractive. Isn’t that presumptuous? As a straight person, I don’t locate every woman attractive, and I’m bothered when a lady assumes that just because they hav

When it comes to intergenerational conflict, you never hear too much about Gen Z having a hard time with Generation X or the silent generation having beef with the baby boomers. However, there seems to be some issue where baby boomers and millennials just can’t get on the same page.

Maybe it’s because millennials were raised during the technological revolution and have to help their boomer parents log into Netflix, while the grandparents get frustrated when their grown-up children don't comprehend how to perform basic homemaking and maintenance tasks. There’s also a political divide: Millennials are a reliable liberal voting bloc, whereas boomers are the target demographic for Fox News. Both generations also possess differing views on parenting, with boomers favoring an commanding style over the millennials' gentler approach, which leads to a ton of conflict within families.

A Redditor recently asked Xennials, older millennials, and younger Gen Xers born between 1977 and 1983 to share some quirks of their boomer parents, and they created a fun list of hab

Thoughts on queer athletes and showers

The Michael Sam issue got me thinking. (He's the College senior and star football player who announced he's gay last week. Should make the NFL draft more interesting.) Anyway, I have no problem with him. Whatever.

But it got me to thinking about the locker room and the showers. Men aren't allowed in a women's locker room and showers. Women aren't allowed in a men's locker room and showers. Why, exactly, is that? Now apply the answer(s) to that question to the case of a gay person in a shower with members of their own sex. Is that OK? If so, why? Or why not?

I don't really see a difference. If you put a naked gentleman in a shower with a bunch of naked women (lucky guy!), I'm guessing some of the women won't care, some will enjoy it, as elongated as he's good looking, but a good portion will be very upset. We don't permit it so as not to upset the latter group. Is a gay man in a men's shower any different? I'd be in the "don't care" group. But I bet there would be many who would have a problem with it. Are they homophobes? Or
