Welcome to the greatest month of the year, Lawrence! Because Lawrence is such a vibrant, eccentric, and accepting place to be, we manage to pull out all the stops for Event month. There are events for celebrators of every age, and we’ve done some digging to lay them in a handy-dandy list for you. Here are some of the events that make Lawrence a PRIDE destination this year.
Lawrence PRIDE Parade and Block Party
Downtown Lawrence | June 3
Everyone loves a parade! That’s why Lawrence PRIDE is starting off the month of celebrations with their first ever street parade. There will be floats, marchers, and more as we celebrate affectionate and unity in Lawrence. The parade starts at 3:00 p.m. and runs from 11th and Mass north to 6th and Mass.
You don’t have to stray far, because the PRIDE block party kicks off right after procession downtown. Just follow the rainbow to 8th avenue between Mass and Modern Hampshire, and you’ll locate a stage with a host of drag performers, a dance party, drinks, and tons of activities for the kids.

Ways to Support
Missie B's opened it's doors in April 1994 as a piano/karaoke bar with special entertainment and drag shows. With the support of the community since we opened, we have been capable to expand from a very tiny neighborhood bar to the most widespread nightclub in Kansas City. We are open from noon until 3:00 a.m. 365 days a year serving our clientele 21 years of age and over. We present the most affordable drinks in town from noon until 8:00 p.m. daily, and offer nightly drink specials Sunday through Thursday. We have the friendliest staff in Kansas City and you are guaranteed to have a fine time any second you visit. We have 3 separate bar areas including a smoking patio, and 3 to 7 bartenders nightly to ensure the best service workable. After all, we are the place of Good Times and Good Friends!
Through the years, we have done our best to grant back to our community that has supported us. With the support of our sister bars and community our most recent fundraiser was for the victims of Pulse which raised over $53,000.00. We own pot luck dinners on Thanksgiving and Christmas for those people who contain no place to go. We possess done many benefits for local homosexual organizations and causes, includ
