Kimberly M. Gay is the Head of Reference and Information Services Academic Reference and Instruction Librarian II at Prairie View A&M University- a part of the Texas A&M University System’s John B. Coleman Library.  She supervises a staff of six professional degreed librarians and 10 library trainee work studies. Her work experience includes more than 20 years of professional Academic Librarianship along with her 20 years of operate as the Academic Agriculture Research Librarian for the PVAMU College of Agriculture, Food and Innate Resources and the School of Common and Allied Health. Texas Woman's University, Denton, Texas is where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Mass Communication- Concentration in Broadcast and Digital/ Print Journalism graduating Magna Cum Laude, 3.89 GPA. Along with her major in Mass Communication from TWU, Gay has two minors in Fashion Merchandising and Marketing and Sociology graduating with a 3.89 GPA. Kimberly Ann Gay, 62, of Stratford, passed away peacefully on Sunday January 26, 2025, at Bridgeport Hospital. 

Kimberly was born December 3, 1962, to the late Marcella Bartolo (Manzella) & Richard Mitchell. She was raised in Stamford, CT and raised her family in Stratford. She was the beloved wife of David Gay and mother/step-mother (Mim) to their four kids. 

Kimberly was known by many names throughout her life by those who knew her best: Kim, Kimmy, Kim-bo, Mom, Mim, and Mimsy. David even called her his Rand McNally before GPS was available to all. She was a bright, quick-witted, and loving woman who had an amazing memory. She was always quick to look on the bright side of animation and never let challenges position in her way. She will be remembered for her forthrightness and determination. In her prime, Kim was always dressed to the nines, with the greatest heels you could imagine. She was a force to be reckoned with.
