It's Friday, so tell me (more) about Kate Jackson.
R39 Thanks for sharing! Not surprised to hear that. I never understood Cheryl Ladd's appeal. As Kris (and as herself) she lacked warmth, seemed cold. Ladd has a daughter so the second girl was likely her daughter's friend.
A Datalounger who worked on the Charlie’s Angels set tells it like it is. Someone who was never interviewed because he was a no-name but he witnessed some stuff when Kate, Farrah, Jaclyn and a certain Cheryl were there. You won't be surprised to perceive what he says about Ladd.
This is an excerpt (the whole reply 166 in the thread "Ladd Still Hurt About Charlie's Angeles Reunion Snub").
"Kate didn't abhor Cheryl because she replaced Farrah. That's nonsense. Cheryl is the bitch- not Kate. I worked on Charlie's Angels the first couple of seasons. What a fucking madhouse. But Kate was very nice to people, including the people working on the set who weren't "stars". People liked her. She was more down to Earth in many ways.
Farrah was very sweet, and she had a great perception of humor in the feeling that she'd laugh at everyone's jokes (even when they were rather lame. :)) She was beautiful, but I always recall her

I used to think that if there were a male version of Charlie’s Angels, I could be the smart one favor Sabrina Duncan.
I wanted to to drive a red Pinto like she did and I’d even wear a turtle neck.
Sabrina was, of course, played by the great Kate Jackson who was a regular presence on our TV screens throughout the 70s and 80s starting with Dark Shadows then The Rookies (my little sister used to want to be Jill Danko), Charlie’s Angels then The Scarecrow and Mrs. King.
Yes, Farrah Fawcett was the breakout star of Charlie’s Angels but the show survived nicely without her after season one when Cheryl Ladd was brought in as her replacement.
But when Kate left after season three, the show was never the same and limped along for two more seasons before existence canceled. Replacements Shelly Hack and later Tanya Roberts certainly tried alongside Ladd and Jaclyn Smith but it turned out Kate really was the glue of the trio and her strength and humor made it all wo
Brendan Fraser, who got laughs years ago in GEORGE OF THE JUNGLE and AIRHEADS, won the Best Actor Oscar for his heartbreaking performance as the morbidly obese English Lit. teacher in THE WHALE. Not only is his character a reclusive 600-pound man learning a course about the classic novel Moby Dick to an online class, he's a 600-pound gay man who grieves having missing the male affection of his life.
So..this post is a quick one about movies with male lover male characters who are on the much lighter side in movies that you may enjoy.
My first recommendation is a 20th Century Fox film that never gets mentioned today in the talk about LGBTQ-related films but it was a much-publicized groundbreaker when it came in 1982. I was in my first TV job at the time and interviewed its female head star, Kate Jackson. I worked for an ABC affiliate and she was hot on ABC's CHARLIE'S ANGELS at the time. The movie is MAKING LOVE, a bittersweet love story starring Michael Ontkean, Kate Jackson and Harry Hamlin. Ontkean and Jackson play a happily married new couple in L.A. He's a medic. She's an executive in TV show. He meets a handsome and flirty novelist, played by H
