Debunking the Gay Indoctrination Myth

I’ll never forget overhearing one of my teachers on the smartphone, his voice depressed but his words unmistakable: “These lgbtq+ kids seriously require to seek counseling from a pastor or something! A purely atmospheric challenge can definitely be fixed.” Witnessing that wasn’t just unsettling — it was a bitter reminder of how deep-set misconceptions about our generation are.

In the ongoing culture war over gender and sexual identity, one accusation hurled at Gen Z stands out to me for its sheer absurdity: the concept that young people are “brainwashed” into identifying as gender non-conforming. This narrative argues that TikTok algorithms, liberal teachers, and rainbow capitalism possess joined forces to manufacture an army of LGBTQ+ youth. But the “logic” behind this claim crumbles under basic scrutiny.

Surveys do display that Gen Z has a higher percentage of people identifying as Queer than any previous generation. In 2023, Gallup reported that about 22.3 percent of Gen Z identified as non-heterosexual, compared to just 2.3 percent of Baby Boomers. This isn’t evidence of some covert indoctrination campaign, however; it’s just proof that ingrained social stigmas are fin

"The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry finds no evidence to sustain the application of any “therapeutic intervention” operating under the premise that a specific sexual orientation, gender identity, and/or gender verbalization is pathological. Furthermore, based on the scientific evidence, the AACAP asserts that suc

Carl Paladino Says Homosexuality Not a 'Successful Option'

Oct. 11, 2010— -- New York Republican gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino touched off a recent uproar Sunday, saying that children should not be "brainwashed" into thinking that homosexuality was acceptable.

On "Good Morning America," today Paladino said his comments were rooted in his Catholic faith and that he's "not homophobic" and has "no reservations whatsoever about gays."

Appearing before a small gathering of Orthodox Jewish leaders in Brooklyn, Paladino also boasted that he boycotted New York's lgbtq+ pride parade.

The Tea Party-backed Paladino ignited the controversy during what normally is a routine and unremarkable ritual of campaigns in Unused York, a attend to Williamsburg, Brooklyn, to court the ultra-religious Jews who live there -- one of the myriad voting blocks in the racially and ethnically diverse city.

Political observers could not recall the last time a major-party candidate in New York had made such comments about homosexuality.

Apparently trying to draw a distinction from his Democratic opponent, Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, Paladino tol

Queer kids are not brainwashed

There are a lot of conversations in the LGBTI community about Prides becoming “too commercial,” but what about grassroots, leftist fundamental Prides? Well, the thought of community-organized, grassroots Prides is amazing, but unfortunately, it is very human to make mistakes.

While massive LGBTI Prides that are organized with help from businesses are trying to be inclusive, grassroots Prides have sometimes gone too far in their bids to create an “edgy,” rebellious atmosphere. Some slogans that have been used at “independent” Prides make more problems than they solve, making these events non inclusive and unacceptable for a large part of the LGBTI community.

I believe in intersectionality. I was one of the very few activists in Russia who began writing and speaking about the need for intersectional approaches in the LGBTI society — speaking up for neurodivergent, disabled, non-white, Muslim, and Jewish LGBTI people. In the U.K., I’m part of various groups supporting LGBTI refugees.

And this is why I spot that some modern efforts by Western LGBTI activists to be mindful of different forms of oppression have actually excluded people from Pride and di
