Are male gymnasts gay
By Joey Bonanno
When you envision a superior athlete, the descriptive words that might come to brain include strength, force, masculinity and grit. Every young player aspires to acquire these qualities. But when you’re plagued with stereotypes and stigmas of what it means to be gay, many young athletes change into scared to be who they are, to follow their dream. I think the fear of non-acceptance from one’s family and team; along with the desire to guard the reputation of one’s sport is a driving oblige behind the hesitance of gay athletes to come out.
I remember the night I asked my mom to indicate me up for gymnastics. I was doing cartwheels and running around my mom’s dance studio. I had an obsession with backflips and was determined to learn one. Little did I know my crave to learn a backflip would soon turn into so much more. It soon became my life, my desire and the essence of who I am today. I come from a family of four, born and raised in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. I was blessed with incredible parents, my mother, a dance studio owner and my father, a musician. With the influence of an artistic family, the value of passion was always in my blood. Growing up in one of the most diffic
Gay USA gymnast defends Simone Biles for attacking Riley Gaines over trans athletes
A male gymnast has leapt to Simone Biles's defense amid the USA Olympic hero's bitter trans feud with Riley Gaines.
Gaines, 25, came to virtual blows with Biles, 28, over the weekend after the gymnast launched a scathing attack on the conservative activist.
Biles sparked the war of words Friday night when she compared Gaines to a man after the former swimmer criticized a Minnesota high school softball team for competing with a trans player.
The eleven-time US Olympic medalist's post triggered furious backlash from Gaines, who issued a series of stinging rebukes.
But Sam Phillips, an openly gay gymnast at the University of Illinois, clapped back at the political commentator, claiming her argument is 'null and void.'
'This whole battle between Riley and Simone is NULL & VOID because the basis of the right's assault is that she would surrender medals in the men's gym category when in reality, she would actually STEAL GOLDS from LOTS of the best Male floor and vault workers. So their base is FLAWED,' the 23-year-old wrote in a upload on X.

Danell Leyva
There is just something about the gymnastic body….
After two-time Olympic gymnast Danell Leyva came out as gay, I was reminded of just how much I love watching gymnastics. The theatrics and amusement, the show of athletic prowess, the hint of true danger with every mistimed flip, there’s just nothing like it.
And it doesn’t hurt that all the men of professional gymnastics are just so HOT! Every curve, every muscle, every inch of their bodies holds tales of the years they’ve put into the sport and themselves. And honey, IT SHOWS!
So in honor of Leyva (and honestly, just for a bit of fun), here are some pictures of professional male gymnasts.

SAN JOSE (KCBS) - If Josh Dixon makes the trim at the US Olympic team trials in San Jose on Thursday, he could also construct history as the first openly same-sex attracted male gymnast to compete at the Olympics.
Dixon has been dreaming of going to the Olympics since he first started copying his sisters' moves, at age 6 or 7.
"I was trying stuff in the backyard, and I don't know, I just fell in love with gymnastics as a sport," he said.
KCBS' Doug Sovern Reports:
A Willow Glen High Institution graduate who became an NCAA champion at Stanford University, Dixon said he hopes to craft headlines with his performance rather than his sexuality when he competes for a spot on Team USA in London this summer.
"I'm focusing on the gymnastics. I could care less about anything else," Dixon said.
There were 10 openly gay athletes at the 2008 Olympics, but there's never been a gymnast who came out before competing. Dixon decided to come out when a teammate told him he could become a role model for other gay athletes.
"It's OK to be yourself and do what you do and the world won't judge you for it," Dixon said.
The 22-year-old said some young gay athletes have hailed him as a role model, but overall the reacti
